Discussion on Migrating to Great Expectations Version 1

Original Slack Thread

Hi <@U06TM7M40RK>, the great expectation plugin is based on great expectation version 0.18. Is there any plan to migrate to great expectation 1?

Currently, the DataHub integration with Great Expectations supports versions up to 0.15.12, as indicated in the <https://github.com/datahub-project/datahub/blob/master/metadata-ingestion-modules/gx-plugin/setup.py|setup.py file for the gx-plugin>. There is no explicit mention in the provided data sources about plans to migrate to Great Expectations version 1.0. However, there have been discussions and requests for upgrading the Great Expectations dependency to newer versions, as seen in various <Slack discussions> and <https://github.com/datahub-project/datahub/issues/8115|GitHub issues>.

If you are interested in the latest updates or contributing to this effort, you might want to follow the ongoing discussions in the <https://github.com/datahub-project/datahub/issues/8115|GitHub issue> related to upgrading Great Expectations.

Would you like more detailed information on how to integrate Great Expectations with DataHub or any other specific aspect?
