When you perform a dbt ingestion in DataHub, it will not overwrite column descriptions that have been manually added by users through the UI. According to the <Slack discussion>, DataHub manages separate version control for UI-based and original descriptions. This means that even if newer field descriptions are ingested, the DataHub UI will preferentially show the version from the UI, as confirmed in the <https://github.com/datahub-project/datahub/issues/4758|GitHub issue>.
