Ability to Hide Platforms for Specific Users Using Privileges in DataHub

Original Slack Thread

<@U06TM7M40RK> Can we hide a platform for few set of users using privileges?

Based on the available data sources, DataHub currently does not support the ability to hide entire platforms for specific users using privileges. While you can create access policies to control what users can do on the platform, such as managing users, viewing analytics, or editing metadata, there is no explicit mention of a feature that allows hiding entire platforms from specific users.

According to the <https://datahubproject.io/docs/0.14.0/authorization/access-policies-guide|Access Policies Guide>, access policies in DataHub define who can do what to which resources, but they do not include functionality to hide platforms entirely from certain users. The policies are more focused on controlling actions and access to specific metadata entities or platform-level privileges.

If you are looking to restrict access to certain resources or actions, you can use metadata and platform policies to define privileges and assign them to specific users or groups. However, this does not equate to hiding entire platforms from view.

Would you like more detailed information on how to set up access policies for specific actions or resources?
